Actor shanto khan bangladesh: Kolkata In Shock After Bangladeshi Producer Selim Khan And His Actor Son Shanto Lynched By Angry Mob

Actor shanto khan bangladesh: The Bangladesh crisis has only deepened in the last few days with Sheikh Hasinafleeing the country and Army taking over. But no development has been able to minimise the violence the country has been seeing for weeks now. Amid this, Bangladesh actor Shanto Khan and his producer father Selim Khan were brutally lynched in Bangladesh and the incident left Kolkata shocked.

Selim was the director and proprietor of Shapla Media and he had co-produced the film ‘Commando’ which was never released. A report in the Times of India stated that Selim had around 10 films in various stages of production. He had also directed ‘Tungi Parar Miya Bhai’, a film based on significant events in the life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

A report in The Daily Star said Selim Khan and his son Shanto were beaten to death in Chandpur. It added that after the news of Hasina’s resignation spread, the father-son dup fled his village and went to Farakkabad Bazar of Balia Union, stated.

They managed to get away from people by opening fire and reached the Bagarabazar area. However, as per the report, an angry mob caught and killed them. Chandpur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Mohsin Alam confirmed the matter.

Arindam Das, executive producer of Tollywood, who had earlier worked with Selim in Kolkata said he had talked to Khan on Monday afternoon. “I had spoken to Selim bhai on Monday. Just a few hours later, Shamim Ahmed Rony — director of ‘Commando’ — called me from the US, inquiring if I had received any news,” he said.

“He said his hands were trembling after hearing a distressing news about Selim Bhai. When I checked, what I discovered left me numb,” Das recounted.

Actor Dev, who was in Khan’s film ‘Commando’, told reporters, “I had been to Bangladesh several times and floored by the hospitality of the people there. The news of deaths is upsetting. I hope this phase will end and Bangladesh will be back on tracks soon.”
